Barrie,

How wild looking! What are the bananas in the background?

that is a beautiful flower. You are so lucky being able to grow that plant oan others on the Island

Allen

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Dean ... just regular old garden variety, Musa basjoo. Periodically the pseudostems don't die back in winter and they retain their height, then pick up from where they left off the previous autumn. This allows for big plants and these are near 14' presently.
As for Australian plants, I'd like to experiment with more of them in the future. Any (or most) I've tried are great additions and seem right at home.

Cheers, Barrie.
