Cactus Identification

Hey all....
Can someone please let me know what kind of cactus this is? They are all over th eplace here lately and they are quite pretty. They bloom large yellow flowers in late June / July usually . i have no idea what they are. thanks

Opuntia humifusa. aka O. compressa. Eastern Prickly pear.

Thank you. They are everywhere. I wonder if they can be grilled and eaten??

I agree with Paul....Humifusa. Not sure about eating them.....as far as I know you can.

My guess is,the little stickers would be harder to get out
of your mouth than your hands,legs etc.

I'm gonna try. I remember my aunt grilling them over in Tuscany when we visited her one summer.

I/m def grabbing some cttings.....They are everywhere. Now, where to put them? Gotta keep the dogs away...LOL
