Hi Barb,
Those plants there are planted in the ground, but I have several inside the greenhouse that are so big,I can't pick them up anymore,so they have to stay inside all year long, but 90% of them are outside planted in the ground until fall, when I will repot them and bring them back inside.Lot of work, but I get the wow effect that way!!!!

Sheesh, Don, you're gonna have to dismantle the greenhouse if you want to get any of 'em out 😆 😆
Not just a green thumb...green fingers!
Nice.

I just received some Alocasia & Colocasia from a very nice person named Robert Chumley. I potted them up, and am I correct, after reading this thread, I need to keep them in a warm, humid spot that is under a canopy? Hope so as thats where I put tonight after potting up. It can get up to 110 degrees in my greenhouse. Is that too warm?

Tropicman, After visiting you and finding out about your love for these things, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you to visit me in Topeka when they start taking off and letting you dig some out to take back to Wichita with you. I would do it but I have NO IDEA what I am doing. 😳

Wes,did you get names with these Alocasias, and Colocasias.
I have several varieties, maybe if we have different ones we can trade babies later on.
Just remember to keep them on the dry side during the winter, they really rot easy is kept wet and on the cool side.

As hot as it is, keep pouring the water on, these ones in shade need at least once or twice a day or they flop over 🙂

The only one he mentioned by name is a "Hilo Beauty". The rest, I will probably need to post pics of when they leaf.

Yep as much water as you can give them in summer, slightly moist during the winter, some people just let them go dormant, and keep them in peatmoss in a plastic container.
