Some misc. from the Greenhouse.

P.selloum new leaf,

Alocasia "Aurora" ( Nice stem color )

Alocasia "Polly" A small one but nice coloratiion already showing.

Not sure the name of this one, ( towards the center), has a nice metallic sheen to the leaves.

Nice new growth Steve.
You're ahead of me...my Selloum is just pushing a new leaf here.

Your alocasia's stem colour is beautiful. All looks very good in your GH.
Do you have to use shade cloth on the roof to prevent overheating?

Hi Barb,
Your selloum looks good, once these start up they won't quit till Winter 🙂
I like these Alocasias, The majority of them are from the generosity of PalmsNorth members - this also makes them special 8)

This is my shade cloth, ( Ibervillea lindheimeri ), This grows as a vine, just let it cover the windows I want shaded.

The back half of the Greenhouse is my little "Jungle"

This is the upper canopy,

Mid level canopy,

Underneath this all is a water feature which adds humidity and gives me a great place to grow plants that need shade.
As crowded as things are getting inside it is hard to get a decent photo, really going to try and expand the GH this season 🙂

I've only started caring for my selloum again since you admired its old trunks as being desirable.
It's thanking me (and you) with a new leaf.
The air roots on this thing just go round and round in the pot, can't even see the soil.

Yup, a gifted plant is always special!

What a neat shade idea from the Ibervillea, beautiful. A real plus over that expensive shade cloth sold in stores.

Plants in your GH look like they want to bust through the top, having a race to the roof 8)
The mid canopy plants look very healthy too, and the humidity created by the water feature is obviously what they prefer.

Your photos are great. The understory smaller plants are really benefitting from the crowding. They obviously love it.
It must feel like Hawaii in there on a warm day!

Mine is still in the container it came in. I sat it down in the GH , a month later when I was getting around
to planting it those aerial roots had sneaked out of the pot and down into the ground 🙂

The GH does have a nice tropical atmosphere on a sunny day! Without being able to move to the tropics anytime soon this is the next best thing!

So you'll want to expand the GH ... encircling your residence!
That would be heaven.

Can almost feel the humidity in there...
yup, there's lots more room for new plants 😆
Everything looks soooo healthy!
The selloum is developing wood early.

Couldn't gain a few pounds...need to get thru the GH, ha ha, Steve.
The best diet there is!

I'm just hoping things don't grow too fast 😆

I forget which thread we were talking about this, but here is my laundry tub planter collection

Any word on your Wollemi pine ?

Spectacular display in your yard. I really like the blue tubs.
Who would've thought blue plastic would look this good! 🙂

Man those palms are healthy...
you're going to have to do a two-storey GH, bet that tall palm barely clears the ceiling.
As always Steve, well done.

No word yet on the Wollemia nobilis...the grower's got another business in California and frequently hops back and forth to Oz. But while I'm waiting...it's happily growing in Australia before it goes for a long plane ride.
Nice that one of us will have travelled this year 8)
I do hope it arrives before September (he had said mid-June).

Thanks Barb! GH is not quite tall enough, so these overwinter inside the house.
I hope your Wollemia nobilis arrives soon. ( looking forward to the photos 8)

Don, That does look nice! ( looks like you might have room for hanging baskets 🙂

Another use again for Laundry Tubs ~ Spent the day plumbing this one into the water circuit in the GH. Hoping to have some Nypa fruticans seedlings on the way and need a tank to grow them in.
