chilean pine tree. very unusual look. cold hardy to -20 C.
Here is a one growing at one private property not so far from my place. Has survived a few cold winters in Almaty. Doesn't look very healthy but it has see many days of prolonged frees down to minus 25 - minus 27 C.

it looks ok, for that cold.lower branches might die,but most of the plant looks ok to me. there is one more cold hardy cultivar called araucaria araucana "gheri robusta", to -25C. it has light green leaves, some of those are grown in ukraine, very well. leaves of a.a. live up to 15 years, longest of all plants.
There are 2-3 regions of Ukraine were A.a. can be cultivated: Uzhgorod (z7), Odessa (z7) and South coast of Crimea (z8-9)... I'd like to have the one in my garden but it's seldom imported to Kazakhstan.
