It was a stellar day on the shores of Vancover Island today, so I thought I'd post a few pics for you to enjoy. These where all taken in my garden this afternoon (Feb. 15, 2007). Any questions about the pics posted, feel free to ask.

Cheers, Barrie.

Everything looks good. It looks like you will have plenty of euc seeds this spring.

Holy Toledo, Barry, great pics of great plants!
Love your bamboo. How do you keep it from "wandering" across your yard. Are you one of those folks who plants it in a metal box with the bottom removed?
Is the 1st pic of a Russian olive?
What is that stunning 5th pic? Looks like a ponderosa on steroids, ha ha. It is too beautiful.
Is the 6th pic (from the end) an Oleander?

And the buds...!!!! which proves you're in zone 322, ha ha. And I'm in 4 ...
Wonderful visiting your garden.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Bamboo (Phyllostachys vivax) gets root pruned to keep it in somewhat in check. I have a half acre lot so I'm dillegent but not overly concerned.

First pic, Eucalyptus nitens (Shining Gum tree)
Fifth pic, Pinus patula (Mexican Jelicote pine)
Sixth pic (from the end), Eucalyptus kybeanensis (Kybean Mallee)

Thanks - I'm largely in zone 8b with a visit from my next door neighbor (zone 8a) once every decade or so.
I have lots more planned for this garden.

Cheers, Barrie.
