Hey everyone,

Here's some pics if anyone is interested in seeing them. Was bored this afternoon. Good thing I had my camera with me today and took a few pics around town. Sorry about the bad quality pics.

Golf course up in the hills.

Haze above downtown.

Some mountain shots.

A pyramid from Summerhill Pyramid Winery.

Another shot along with a few boxes of wine ready to be shipped.

Regards,
Jay

It's nice to see things starting to green up. As a comparison, the top 3 leaves of my tallest rhododendron are now showing above the snow.

Wow, How much snow do you have right now? Good thing Spring is just around the corner. 🙂 I remember having snow stay around all winter long when i lived in Edmonton but don't remember having lots of snow.

Jay

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks Aaron. Our snow has been gone for awhile now. We do still have some snow higher up in the mountains. Warm weather is on it's way. 😀

Jay

Jay, your pics are great...despite the gloomy overcast day.
Yea, didn't the balance of snow just disappear in a couple of days!
Vancouver's supposed to get a bucketful of rain tonight/tomorrow. We could use a good dump too to clean sidewalks and streets of dust and sand.

But being in a rainshadow, we probably won't see much precip even at 60% forecasted.

We got heavy rain for a breif period this (Saturday) afternoon, and much lighter rain until about 8:30 pm. I noticed quite a bit of clearing afterward but I doubt it will last. Flood watch in many of the Puget Sound counties tonight, but I've not heard of any here on Vancouver Island. I've read recently about the lower Fraser valley and low lands throughout the SW corner of BC and the possibility of flooding. A lot depends on how fast the snow pack melts up country.

Cheers, Barrie.

Earlier this week I had about 18 inches or more. Now it is down to 12". I still have between 18 and 24" of snow cover on my yuccas, the rhododendrons and most of the butterfly bushes. There is still 24" of snow on the bamboo. Due to a brain fart, my wisteria is the only plant without snow cover.

The snow is deeper where I dumped the snow that I removed from the sidewalks and driveway. One spot is still 3' deep.

The forecast is for the temperature to drop to -3 C tonight with highs of 9 C tomorrow and Monday before dropping back to -7/3 C for the rest of the week. I just might see my yuccas by the weekend.

Our 80% chance of precip is now down to 30%. Didn't get a drop at 80% last night.
Vancouver has a damaging wind warning, I see this morning.

Colder next week, darn, might head your way Allen.

Sounds ominous for the Fraser Valley. Are you at sea level on the Island, Barrie?

Barb ... I'm a mile up from the beach and 235' elevation here in Lantzville. Dead calm and no wind this morning. The only winds that effect us at our place are NWers. The damaging winds in November never even phased us here because they where mainly SE.

Here's a North view behind our place about another 100' higher which over looks the Winchelsea Islands (forground), Lasqueti and Texada Islands (left) and the Sunshine Coast (BC mainland) in the distance.

Cheers, Barrie.

Barrie, a mile up from the beach...guess you'd be OK then 😆 Nice bit o' paradise you got there.
Good you missed that nastiness in November. We had a lot of wind while it was 20 below. So far only the Pyracantha looks cooked (I bought it while visiting Victoria 10 years ago...)

So much for the weather warning...the guy must've had a few too many...
Our 80% precip fizzled, not a drop, yet I could see heavy black clouds obscuring the hilltops west of Okanagan Lake.

There were rain streamers all around us (north is Silver Star, south is Aberdeen range with its own nasty weather system generally, and east are the Monashee mountains). We're dry as a popcorn fart ( 😳 ) in the middle.
