Rumor has it that we will be getting a Lowes here in Edmonton in the next year or 2.

How do they compare with Home Depot?

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

In our area HD carries the better palms. Lowes usually has a decent selection but most are 1-5 gal. HD will carry them up to 25+ gal.

Wow. Here HD carries the largest palms but their largest is in a 12" pot. All that they carry is the Majesty palm with the occasional Chinese Fan palm. Maybe a little competitions will get us some variety.

We've got a few Lowes stores now in S/Ontario and hopefully by spring they'll have some new species rather than the usual....

I've picked up some lime tree's and Opuntia's from HD in the past..you never know...competition is good..

Wonder whats going to happen to Rona??

I don't know how Rona will do in Ontario but they are surviving in Edmonton. They are price competitive on the basics but don't have the variety that HD has or the customer service attitude of Totem. I would guess that they are third out of the big three here. They bought Totem last year and haven't screwed with it yet.

When we get Lowes, I expect that Rona will fall to 4th place.
