Me again 🙂

Black bamboo arrived today(Thursday),already over 6' tall!
The stalks are small but already are black colored, this was a great deal
(esp)if you look at what other sellers offer and their prices.

I will post some pics of it tomorrow along with some of the palms,
everything is uncovered except for a little hospital tent(back of cactus shelter)
that is covering most of 6 palms....5 have spear-pull.

Did you decide where to plant it?

Look forward to the pics. I use to have some P. nigra that a friend gave me. Kept in a large container so it wouldn't run to much. Eventually I got rid of it though due to lack of space for it.

It really is a beautiful specimen plant. If I had more space I would get some more. 8)

I currently have Semiarundinaria fastuosa (Temple Bamboo) & Bambusa oldhamii. The later which is a clumper.

This was a really sweet deal-esp-when you consider people
are charging over $50 for a handful of roots.

This plant is already as nice as I hoped it would be by the end of the year!

With any luck it will put a few shoots up in April-but I am very happy to
see it stay just like it is!

I uncovered EVERYTHING else today(Washys and T.ferns),both will need to be
covered below(T.ferns) 28F/under 26F for the Washys but the major protection is off the Washys.

Nothing under 27F in the 15 day forecast...for what that's worth.

Just a little tent with a space heater for cold nights to be careful-the spears grew 3"
over the winter....not bad.

I had trouble loading the pictures this morning but I did get the Bamboo....

It already has black stalks.
It stands over 6'-was bent over in the box but is straight now-here it is-

Thanks Dean

Nice to have an established plant already-
if it grows at all this year,it's a bonus! 8)

Looks good Jim! Before long you'll have a jungle in front of your house, it will be nice to work in the yard again.

That trachies are coming out of the greenhouse as soon as I get home, let the fun begin.

That's a nice one, wow.

And only you get 3 inches of palm growth during winter 😆 😆
Well done.
