Hello
I am living in a very humid climate 6b in center of Belgium.
I am a lover about any exotics, but especially palms, banana plants and cycads.
In the garden actually i have Chamaerops Humilis, Jubaea Chilensis, Sabal Minor var louisiana, Sabal Minor var blue, Butia Capitata, Brahea Armata, Musa Basjoo, Opuntia Humifusa, Eucalyptus Gunii, Ficus Carica and a lot on native plants and trees not exotics
i will show you some pictures of my garden to let you see a bit, but unluckily i got some problems on last winter which was -21C. Luckily all of the palms are alive, ....
My protection assemblies for Butia Capitata, Brahea Armata and Jubaea Chilensis
Dammage on my Butia capitata after the 7th january 2009 (-21°C, -5°F) it has been cutted above the sproud using a trunk cutter to avoid risk of rotten in the hole on place of the missing flush.

That is one BEAUTIFUL garden and property you have there. I love the variety of different plants and palms you have
growing on your property. Welcome aboard looks like you've been at this for a while, you'll fit right in here. Sorry
to hear about your capitata too.
Bill

Good to hear you're growing cycads and bananas too!
Interesting picture of the cut to the Butia's spear center.

Thank you everyone, i usually care about the ornemental plants, and my father is the one to care the vegetables, he is getting old and then living with us.
A garden is the best good to have in the life.
I don't know if you learned the french tales of La Fontaine at school.
"a farmer had two son's and was going to die, he gave his farm and fields as legacy and told them, shake the earth and dig, a treasure is hiden inside, then they searched everywhere could not find anything on the earth, and finally they saw wheat growing and they had to eat for long time, it was the treasure !"
What would be a world without plants ? it would exist without us 🙂

Very nice pictures. What town are you in? I lived in Strasbourg France and have passed through Belgium and visited many times.

Do you know about Gerpinnes, it is especially famous by St Rolende it has the feast each pentecost days with the most important folkloric napoleonian march of Belgium.
I am living in that area, it is not too far from Charleroi. It is nice and quiet on country side but unluckily a cold place.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
