Or from Manilla palm to Christmas palm?
Veitchia merrillini (or Adonidia?!?) is called "Royal Palm" in Belize, as is Roystonea.
Imagine my struggles as a palm novice. 😆

Adonidia used to be Veitchia merrillii, changed based on taxonomic studies (S.Zona) did. Common names are adonidia palm, Christmas palm, Manila palm, and dwarf royal palm, according to Riffle&Craft's Encyclopedia of Cultivated Palms.
Sure beats "tropical foliage" labels though.

I think the "trick" with that one was DWARF royal palm.

Yes, when I ask my Belizean gardening buddies if they mean "dwarf royal palm" they agree, but in everyday usage "royal palm" refers to both. I guess we could take a lesson and use proper botanical names on this forum. 😯

Maybe both, as we're likely familiar with one or the other.
Great way to learn without having to get out the reference books each time.

But when you learn one thing one way for years its hard to change,or remember the change!
I don't guess there even in the same genius.
Florida Gardner forum,says they call it a dwarf royal because it looks like one,and they just use it as a common name.
But to me the trunks look completely different,just confusing to me when they keep calling palms by so many different palms.
If I was going to buy one,I would want a dwarf royal palm,and not a Xmas Palm!
Don't even know if there is a dwarf royal palm,but would like to own one if there was!
