I'de come down there, but w/ my attitude towards over priced sellers sometimes makes me an A s s. I just DO NOT deal well with people like that. I tend to tell them how I feel 😳

It would definetly be good for a walk through. I too have a hard time over spending on any palm tree. I have lost (killed) my share of overpriced palm trees and that keeps me from digging deep in the wallet. I grow most of my palms from seed now, it takes patience but it's not like I have $699 invested, just $6.99, a big difference.

The price on the Queens don't seem too bad, rest are just a bit pricey 😐

Forgot to mention,they had a few coconut palms as well,one leaf was a good 10 ft long,these had the beginings of a small trunk
starting to form,I believe they were $299.00 as well.

I saw a few were already had sold tags,so they won't have a problem selling them.
Disappointed in Natures way,they didn't have much in the way of any palms,chinese and a majesty was about it,and over priced by a mile I might add!!!

They are getting harder to find, but the best deals and quality plants always seem to come from the nursery's that grow there own stock.

Was at the box stores in Salina yesterday and not even a W.robusta to be found. Pygmy Date, Majesty's and Chinese Fans were all.
The mass marketing of some of this stuff is getting ridiculous, The Sagos looked like they were coated with the same stuff they use on their produce and most of the cactus were glued in their pots by what looked like a mixture of black sand and wood glue...lol

I agree with you,they get extra TLC that way.
I understand that nurseries make there money off bedding plants,annuals and perrinals,they turn them over fairly quick,and they can overwinter them over in a unheated greenhouse,tropicals grow slower,cost more and need extra water and fertilizer,plus heat to overwinter.
If they would purchase more of the unusual exotic plants,they might sell more,I think a lot of people are getting bored with the usual houseplants,I know I am.
I'll pay a little more for a quality grown plant,and especially one thats hard to come by,here in Ks
I think if a nursery is equipped and can handle extra plants,they should try to go with growing tissue cultures tropicals,I believe some of the southern nurseries are doing just that,they really need someway of competing with the box stores or they eventually are going to go out of business.

I gotta be honest here, I have had the best luck with freaking "Wal-Mart"!!!
I have not lost a tree from Wal-Mart EVER!
Also gotta say, the healthiest tree I have gotten thru the mail BY FAAAAAAR, is the Foxtail from OPPalm. Slow growing, but still just as green and healthy as the day he sent it.

I'll say,looks real good!
I brought most of my seedlings like that outside,been about a month now ,slowly trying to harden them off.and have lost a few
but the weather hasn't been cooperating all that much!

Just getting caught up on soem posts. I recognize that little foxtail. He looks good. They are slow growers when young/small. Maybe by the end of summer he'll pick up a little speed.

I think that new leaf will be opening by the end of this month. Still looks healthy as the day you sent it.
