Bottle palms came in, followed by foxtail, traveler's "palm" and several other tenders. Forecast low tonight is 34oF (1oC). 🙁
I'm at just 36oN latitude. Can I assume everyone north of me has already done this?

Got my Alocasia plants and Lemon Tree inside. It might be a light frost in a few hours. Or might be not... The rest of my plants are still out...

I got most of my plants inside except for the Colocasias and Alocasias but I am just going to dig those up and store those dormant also have a red Abyssinian banana I need to dig up and bring in, and my trachy, sabal minor, and needle palm seedlings. Prob. will do that on monday cause im off. I about wore myself out trying to get some of those bigger plants inside, its a lot of work. Now my house looks like a jungle.

My apartment looks like a jungle, too--a haphazard jungle and they went every which way. Some will go back outside Tuesday as we have warm weather coming back for a week or so. Bottles etc are staying in, though.
Low at the nearest airport was 33oF (0.5 oC); Tulsa officially was 32 oF (0oC) which I think might be a record cold first freeze. Funny as 2012 is on target to be our warmest year ever, but the air is so dry with this drought that it cools fast. And will heat fast all week 😀

Past 4 nights here have been below freezing, strange just the week before last I had the AC on and the windows open at night. 🙄

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I've been watching that big freeze running through central Canada and the US! Tonight will likely be the coldest night of fall for my area so far. I'm guessing that temps will reach around 3-4 C or so. However, I still haven't brought anything inside! 😆

Last week, we were suddenly warned of several nights of -2C, so I scrambled and moved most of the palms into the cold building.
Big job.
Now it's warmed up again.
May leave them all in that building instead of moving some to the house and fighting fungus gnats in the house all winter.

Probably the demise of my big Bottle Palm this year that makes me want no palms in the house this winter.

Doing surprising well. Low this morning only about -2 C. A few potted palms (Chameadorea radicalis, CIDP, Trachy, Sabals) still outside and looking fine.

Say "thanks" to a mod (nameless!) who tracked me down.
All good here. Having "just" potted palms makes it all too easy.
Planted a Sabal minor "Ft Worth" I started from seed in a friends' yard last month just I'll have something to protect this winter 😆

I have plant pots everywhere: in the living, in the bedroom, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, at my wife's school, at my work in the office. So what did I do after that? Found a cactus on sale at Canadian Tire and I brought it home.
