impressive. I give up after a few months. I think I have adult ADD and simply don't have time in my life for an uncooperative palm seed. You either pop in 60 days or your compost. period.

Kent in Kansas
where it's cold in winter (always)
and hot in summer (usually)

Way to go, Barb. Keep them warm. I don't want them to rot on you. 8)

Kent, yup, I used to look at the baggies of seed every day...until someone said to forget about them, and look at them every week or two. Meaning "get a life" 😆 😆 and then one day you look at 'em, and they're poppin'.
One day your compost will surprise you!

Dean, yes they're doing fine on the little heat tray in the cheap plastic GH. I even think that the 3 Dypsis decaryi I got from you might be on the way. I've probably jinxed them by saying that 😕

Dean, the trick is to not look at the seeds every day!
Just get on with life 😆 😆 😆 and check the baggies now and then for any that are popping, or whether they're a bit too dry.

Seeds used to TEST my patience, now they're TEACHING me patience.

Barb

Are these doing anything for you?

I have one planted on the edge of my cactus garden.

Nope, they croaked (post was 3 years ago) 😥 😥
Also tried Copernicia hospita, one of the most gorgeous palms in the world, started to pop, then croaked too.

I don't think I'm cut out for this seed starting thingy...should leave it to Cameron et al. 😆

Jim, is yours turning silver yet?
Will look forward to seeing yours grow.
They apparently take a few years to get that steel-blue look that I love.
There are pics of them at Nong Nooch Thailand on the internet that take my breath away...can't find it right now.
