Happy to receive these today from Barrie at Las Palmas Norte (LPN), well-marked and packaged.
Great condition.

at window (left to r), Chamaerops Humilis "cerifera", Sabal palmetto seedling, Sabal uresana.
near camera, (l to r), Trachycarpus Naini Tal, Sabal minor Charleston, Sabal mexicana.
That "uresana" looks like it's stretching to be a foot taller in the morning 😉

I'll leave them in the cold building for a couple of days until I figure out which ones prefer to be warm in winter. Will bring those into the house.

Life is good. More palms.
Barb

6 palms in the mail in one day - does it get any better than that? I think not ......... unless it's seven palms.
Nice looking stuff there Barb .................. and Barrie.

Kent in Kansas
where it's cold in winter (always)
and hot in summer (usually)

Hey Barb ... not much of the blue/silver coloring is evident on the 'Cerifera' in your photo. It must be camera angle, lighting etc. I planted one this fall in a fairly dry area near a tall Eucalyptus tree. We'll see what happens.
All the potting up you did looks good!

Cheers, Barrie.

Hi Barrie,
Yes, I also noticed the lack of blue in the palm's photo. I think you're right about the strong light coming through window.
Will take another shot tomorrow to show how very blue it is for a young palm.

I really like its form, with two "pups" (is that what it's called?) off the base.
Is that common in this palm? It's very attractive, looks like a bonsai in a way.

Oh, under a euc tree would be lovely (same colours above and below).
In the shade of your tall tree, it'll be a real stunner.

I was in heaven potting up those plants...sun was warm, dog happily snoozing, 70's music on...
Life was (is) good.

Yes Barb, these offsets, pups. satellites etc are a natural occurance with Chamaerops.
The difference with yours is quite noticeable. It does have a "bonsai" appearance as all the others I have don't have this compact small leaved look. It's a "one off" with the seed lot I got, and you have it.

"70's music" ... hey I know it well. I attended many rock concerts in that decade.

Cheers, Barrie.

It's so very cool, Barrie. As they age, Chamaerops specimens would truly be one of a kind.
I'm thrilled to have it.

Dead batteries today, pic of blue colour tomorrow.

70's music...even 20 year olds today seem to like it.
I often have the Galaxie 70's satellite channel on all day 🙂
The palms love it, too!

Yes, the first pic didn't do it justice.
Sunshine seems to "fade out" blue colours.
Tks.
