it is indeed embarrassing in retrospect. 😳
As for the promised garden tour, I will ask permission to take photos and post a slideshow.

you can now see why I'm so excited.
You've seen what I have.
Well, this chap is ~15 miles from me! Granted, he is in the ideal spot to catch the urban heat island effect, but nonetheless I think I can learn a lot from him.

You may not have a heat island but you'll have a hot barn wall next winter...
Heck if he can grow that 15 miles from your place, you can plant tons of stuff, just a bit more work 😀 😀

He is 15 miles NORTH of me! 😀
I've scoped him out using google (thanks, Aaron). He is just SE of the main downtown part of Tulsa and so maximizes the urban heat island effect. I'm far enough out of town to miss out on that. 🙁
From what I infer he does not use supplemental heat. I'll willing to plug 'em in if necessary, so I figure I can catch up in a few decades!
All kidding aside, I am sure I can learn a lot from him. I've promised a dinner out in exchange.
If he lets me write down and photograph his secrets I'll share them here.

You've seen that providing "controlled" supplemental heat in a wind-protected enclosure is a sure thing.
He'll be taking pictures of your palms in a few years 😀

Hey Erik,
Here is a few pictures of how John protects his GIANT washy. I'm not sure if he uses any heat in there that will be a question for you to find out :thumbleft:
