Yikes!
It's still a balmy 13c here in Kelowna at 5pm.
Don't want snow anytime soon. 🙁

Your closing comment did indeed make me LOL--it is 50 oF / 10 oC before dawn here.
Seriously, though, my weather is so variable that we sometimes get snow October to April.
Glad you had the hut up already. I have yet to even design mine, yet will need it soon. 😯
On other notes, your Washy looks super. I wish I knew how you do it. --Erik
Crap scotty:S WE had one of the best halloween in years, only -1c at night, clear skies..... I hope you brought in that majasty palm.... It looked just as shoked as you were.
Nice protection. Better hope the neighbors arent nosy and think your putting a low end addition on your house. You use insulation??

Nice palm hut Scott, it's a big sucker!!! Snow and no frost, that's pretty cool. I was picturing you shaking your head while you where filming, since you like snow so much after all 😆 😆 😆
We had our first freeze last night 31-32f area, it killed off my raja puri and thai blacks, basjoos don't actually look all that bad surprisingly. You should try a lasiocarpa next year the cold didn't even bother it one bit, will see what the next to nights do.
Nice job man, get on that washy, I'm pretty sure there as fond of snow as you are 😉
Bill
Looks like it killed of a few things just in time for you to feel better. I bet its fun diggin up the banana corms 😕

Scotty- Looking good.
We had the one frost I mentioned a week or so ago. There was also some snow in the north end of the city yesterday (Toronto), it was supposed to drop to -2C here last night (very cold for Halloween, but not unprecedented... I can remember 2 Halloweens with snow on the ground from my childhood).
I think Sydenham hit -4C, while the airport didn't even drop below 0! I hope the 'real' cold stays away until January!
Halloween snow,now that is scary!
Very unusual to see snow before frost, especially on those Bananas and Castor's
but like Tony Soprano says "whayagonnado"? 😀
Get on that weather sticker so we can see what's up there.
I am curious what the weather is like there today-Nov 1 in consideration of that Washy 😕

Thanks guys!! yeah I was pretty depressed yesterday. Thought abot jumping off the top of the Palm Hut, haha..
Bill- Too bad about the frost but hey, it was gonna happen sooner than later I guess...
I've got a bit of extra room in the hut if anyone is looking for some cheap living conditions???!!
It's fairly large/ugly.. I feel sorry for my neighbors! Just think if I was to add an addition on my house. It would look so good..haha.. Oh well..
Paul- I can remember trick or treating a few times as a kid in the snow. Especially when I live in Quebec.. Hopefully we won't get snow again for a while..
Jim- It got up to 48f today and sunny. The washy looks fine but still not protected. Hopefully this coming weekend. our lowest low this week is tonight at 31f, if they're right..

Snow that early.
It was a balmy 18C or 66F in the sunshine today.
Not bad for November for this area.

Nice Scotty
I think in dry weather with temps gradually getting colder they should be hardening off
and be able to take colder temps.
We'll see,23-26(f) forecast here the next 2 night but sunny days.
I probably won't use more than a sheet on them ❓ 😯

Oh no Scotty!! I hope the snow didn't stick around for you. Your palm hut is awesome. I'd feel like jumping off the palm roof too if I suddenly got hit with the white stuff! 😆 Hope you're getting things covered now. I still have one more palm hut to make and all of my bananas leaves are trimmed off to be protected at any given moment. Highs here have been a steady 10C and lows about 5C.

Scotty, when I saw your new big Trachy this summer, I wondered how you were going to do the size transition for the expanded hut versus last year's.
Great job, great solution.
Looks downright cozy inside. 😉

With weather like that, you've got time to paint the hut... 😈 😆
My palm hut went up so fast this year (with 2 guys), I forgot to put the power cord under the base.
