Would you like one to add to your collection

Thanks, Jesse!
If you get one to trunk, I'll be first in line 😆 😆

I'm a sucker for trunking palms.
You know...the ones that basically won't grow here (whereas a needle just might!)

Erik...I know you love Sabals...but just think of all those Christmas Palm seeds lying around your feet at the beach!

They might take a while to trunk 😛 IF i get a few to sprout dont be surprised if one shows up at your doorstep 😀 I got a good feeling about the needle palm there, especially against that wall

And you like "trunking" palms eh? Sounds like a Freudian slip to me barb 😀 Needle palm is my only chance to grow a palm here "long term". Couple that with some climate change, I should be successful 😀

Yes, I'm not holding my breath waiting for needles to trunk. 😕

a Freudian slip

Funny!

If only climate change would bring us all warmer winters...not asking for much (just a climate like southern England would be nice).
Damir posted that climate change wish too...
What a kick in the pants so far we're getting hotter summers 👿

Im getting shorter warmer winters, plus longer spring and fall, and cooler summers.

Better then the maritimes - longer winters and cooling temps (sry cameron)

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Mu Agave Utahensis seeds sprouted in 4 days, and about.... 50% germination right now. My Metasequoia glyptrostoboides (dawn redwood) seeds started to sprout as well. Hopefully I dont kill these ones like my last batch..

I bet you had 100% germination on the Dasylirion wheeleri.
Surprising how many popped here.
How long until these delicate-looking plants can be handled for potting individually do you think?

Keep exoting!

I they are anything like agave seedlings, id ait till they have a few true leaves. Again, if they are similar to agave, their roots are quite long. I have 2 agave parryi babies that are in tiny yogurt cups, that are still growing quite well though.

Then again, the general rule is, dont move seedlings till they have at least one true leaf, 2 or 3 is better...

Jesse, do the yoghurt cups allow enough room for roots?

Godfryd, great! Looking very strong.

The few I planted popped very well. 😀

When they are small, I have no problem handling them individually. I think it is a good time to move them. Yuccas also, I think they move very well when very small. Just water them in well. 😀 Cactus, I do the same with, small roots are easy to move.
