Sure do! I roll the seeds up in the paper towel and dampen the towel before putting it in a zip-lock baggie. I set them on top of my fridge for heat. I got 4 of 5 Brahea Armata to pop in 4 months doing this, which I think is pretty good for a Armata.

I'll try anything. If you told me I could germinate seeds faster by wrapping the seeds in the used underwear of a rodeo clown I'd hang around the locker room of a rodeo just waiting for my chance. Hell , if you told me I could germinate seeds faster by wrapping the seeds in a power towel soaked in dog urine I'd chase every dog around the neighborhood and probably get arrested. If you told me I could get seeds to germinate faster by puting them in a dead carp and wrapping the carp in a old sweat sock and burying it in my backyard for 2 weeks and then digging it up and sleeping with under my pillow for 4 days , I'd do it. Well enough of that. Its cold here, had some time to kill so I thought up some experiments I am gonna try once the weather gets nicer. Happy germinating.

Yes Jay they are 😀 they are doing very well. I did not try to sprout them for awhile. Then I thought I would try the baggie and papper towl method, seems to work better than my other tries at sproting palm seed.
I just took a papper towl soaked it and then squeezed most of the water out, folded up the seeds, put a date on the baggie, pushed most of the air out of the baggie, and rolled up baggie and stuck it by the computer. I then check on it every weekend, they looked the same every time, and once I had to remoisten the towl, but in time they did sprout 😀

I haven't had much luck with these seeds. I think I will try Aaron's method.

Jay, I haven't been able to find a Needle palm anywhere, and I just saw here that you have SEEDS. Can I buy a few from you?
My husband works in Kelowna, he could pay you/pick them up in a week or so if you have some. I hadn't wanted to try seeds (figured I was too old 😉 ) but it's the only way I'll get one.
You wouldn't happen to have Triangle Palm seeds too?

This is was not a scientific experiment, but, the paper towel and baggie method was a bust for me. I had much better results germinating seeds in tupperware containers providing bottom heat. The results were not even close. I kept the paper towel and baggie seeds on a computer monitor which provided a constant source of heat.

Interested if knowing if anybody else expeimented with germination this winter?

I still have some Butia eriospatha and some Trithrinax campestris seeds that are now 2 years in the process. Solid and still fine looking seed, I re-washed them and put them in fresh coco husk fiber in tubs. The wait continues.
