Don, Bring on the warm weather! I like these, and doing all I can to get it to divide and hopefully set seed.
( of course I'll save you some 8)

Barb, Thanks for the photos! ( notice my avatar? 😀 You were asking about availability?, Asiatica usually has these in stock:
http://www.asiaticanursery.com/

I promised this one that if it survives though the Winter, I would give it a small pond to live in....lol

New spear on it's way,

Steve,
a new avatar! and it's NYPA...(and I thought I was observant!) 😐

Did your second one recover? think I see two?
They'll set seed that young ? 😯

I think you'd better clone those fish...everything they touch turns to gold.

Great reason to build a pond...honey, I have a palm that HAS TO sit in water!
😆

Steve,yes,I see your new Avatar!!!!
Looks great!

I also see you have aquarium heater in your pond, what temp are you keeping?
In one of my books on palms,by Martin Gibbons,hr writes these are extremely difficult to germinate outside there natural habitat, and if they do germinate, most likely will shortly afterwards.
Steve, looks like you picked a rather hard palm to grow, but you seem to have one going good,so congrats to you my friend!

Barb, just the one left 😐 Have some Manicaria & Salacca hopefully germinating, so maybe that one will have some company soon 😀

Don, With 40 gallons total, I have two 200W heaters keeping it about 68*F. Thanks for the comments, sounds like everyone got new Palm reference books for Christmas. ( except me, maybe next year....lol

Steve, I've never heard of those two you mentioned. 😯
But a bit of Google Imaging and I see you're way ahead of the rest of us ... AGAIN.
Nice choices.

Hope that Nypa fruiticans does well in your (and the fishes) care.

How do you fit it all in your GH?
How do YOU fit in the GH with all those plants?
Congrats buddy!

Barb, Plenty of room left 😀

Looking in through the door,

I can still sort of fit down the aisle,

Few seedlings left,

I see lots of room for more 😆

Hoping to double the size of this one, already have most of the materials set aside, so once it warms up a little 8)

Steve,
and if you double it TOWARDS the house, there'll be less distance for the gas line to it 😉
As always, everything looks great!

This one made it through the Winter in the green house 8)

( trying too keep 40+ gallons of circulating water above 50*F all Winter is not as easy as it would seem )

This one has a new friend now too to keep it company, Salacca wallichiana

Thanks Don!
I have my eye on a 125 gallon preformed pond liner for it's new home this Summer.
(or bigger if I can work it into the budget)
Hopefully Winter was kind to your plants? Less than a month and things can start going outside 8)

Hey Steve,
well lost a few things, but that is to be expected,I guess learned a lesson on plants on the floor, get them off the floor,I though the rubber flooring would keep things warmer than just dirt floor, but now I think I need to but a wood floor in the north greenhouse. 125 gallon sounds great!!!,is this for outside only or you going to have it inside the greenhouse?
Yep about a couple more weeks,I'll start bring out some palms and bananas.
Did you lose anything planted in the ground?
All my washy's and one T.Waggie had spear pull, they all were doing good until that last cold spell that fell down to zero.
Well still got some watering to do.
Don

Don,
Had the flu and some complications this month, I unplugged the one enclosure and forgot to plug it back in....... things ended up a little toasted.

The robusta is already pushing a new spear, so no real damage 😀

I'm hoping to get the green house expanded this year, with the pond right in the middle of the new section, and a 12' roof.
(at least that is the plan, hopefully nature will cooperate this season)
