Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks Tim but I'll save you the boredom of that LONG list 😆 😆

Mostly stuff that'd never grow outside Hawaii or Thailand anyway 🙄

Hi Barb,

some seeds won't germinate until you give up. Don't look at them and then they will all start germing. 😉

Might just do that.
Especially if it gets sunny and warm-ish and I can start doing stuff outdoors.
Can't wait.

Bet you're anxious too...uncovering this weekend or next?

Agreed. I was about to pitch out some of my Bamboo palm seeds when I noticed one finally sprouted. Took over 2 months.

That's an organized operation right there. Is the soil getting moldy in those covered containers or something? What were the species of the successful seedlings?

At least you didn't accidentally crush a bunch of already healthy seedlings. I killed a number of my Christmas Palm seedlings when transplanting them to individual containers. 🙁

Nope, the Hydrogen Peroxide in the misting bottle generally keeps that in check.
The plastic cup covers are just to keep seeds from drying out that close to the woodstove.

Sprouted are: Nannorrhops ritchiana, N. arabica silver, B. armata, S minor (McCurtain) and some Beaucarnea.

Good it popped!

I wish 2 months were all 😆 😆
My batch pictured is 2 months; others are 13 months 😡

On my tombstone: "she managed to sprout only 3 Jubaea in her life". 😆 😆

That's a lot of pots and seedlings. I have had Parajubaea seeds where the first one to germinate was after 15 months. These were even slower than Jubaea seeds which take 9-12 months. Some other seeds like Howea belmoreana took forever too but they were old seeds.

Hi Barb,

I was going to remove some protection this weekend but the forecast 'stinks'.........it appears it will be very wet and/or snowy the next few days so I'll keep the protection on one more week and re-evaluate. Plants hate this kind of weather.
