Cocos won't grow in SC? Too humid?
Ha ha, Laaz.
Plastic cards are still smokin'.

cocos can't take anything below 50F. They are truely a tropical palm best suited for the Mayan Riveria or Hawaii

Need to remind myself that SC isn't as tropical as it seems.
I mistakenly think of Bermuda (more or less the same latitude).

After all, you're at 68F, 20C today.
My place is 23F, -5C

Taylor, I would soak them for a couple days to rehydrate the embryos, afterwards, try to find a way to keep them between 80*- 90*F to help speed up germination. You should see some results in 1 - 3 months.

This post has some ideas how to us X-Mas lights, etc to achieve that:
http://palmsnorth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=696&sid=e09b57c385ed543f885ae944dd67db79

Are you using Miracle Gro soil for a germination medium? ( If you are not, then sorry if this is redundant)

One of the advantages of using Perlite, Sphagnum moss, or Vermiculite is no organic content to feed fungus/mold growth. Seeds are most vulnerable when germination first starts, by using a sterile medium you can get them off to a good start.

There is also a good chance if you just buried the seeds in a container, and came back 6 months later, you would have a few going 😀 I go through all these things just to try and get the highest germination percentage possible.

Good Luck with them!

Taylor, I'm stuck in the deep freeze right now 😐 but have a couple things I can send your way, will probably be the end of January before it is safe to ship.
( need to get at least 2 - 3 days with lows above 32*F to be on the safe side )
