This is an Australian cycad which has a nice form.

Some more info --> http://www.pacsoa.org.au/cycads/Cycas/maconochiei.html

These seeds are an early Christmas present, hoping to have some luck with them 8)

Hi Don!
This area got hit pretty hard, lots of trees and power lines down. We only lost power for a day & night, some of these people will be lucky to have it restored by Christmas.

I have a few trees that fell on the house, going to try and cut some of them up today.
How did your area do?

Steve

I ended up burning a lot of leaves off things in the GH. ( had too large a kerosene heater in a small tightly packed area - kept it above freezing at least)

Looks like plenty of snow on the way!, after the ice, I'll be happy with just snow 😀

Like most Cycas, the end of the seed will split open, this will enlarge as the embryo develops. After a time, the radicle will emerge from this opening.

A little further along, if the hold time and everything else is correct, a radicle will soon emerge. ( If not, this is all that this seed is going to do )

And I'll be here. Just starting off so I'll take anything I can get right now.

Thanks,
