The Panama Talls are are supposed to be a little more cool tolerant than some of the other varieties, this one's still moving along.

Yea a heat lamp on them does sound like a good idea. Or heat tape?

The fish pushing them around was hilarious.

I've never been able to keep one alive.
Congrats on the germination.

Now if I could just get a few more to germinate. Being too cold outside now, moved the rest into the propagator.
Have them bagged up & will soak for a few hours every 3-4 days.

My wife wanted to take a shower, I got yelled at for this! 😆

What's her problem? 😉
Tell her to jump in and make sure the waters hot!
That will get them going for sure! 😯

Little by little.... I haven't picked up a spotlight yet, but did move it a bit more into the walkway, the airflow from the heater will keep it warmer at night.

Hey Steve

Forgot to ask you the other day,if all your coconuts have germinated?
Thinking I might get some more, for when these get a little taller,I'm going to have to get rid of them, and would like to grow some more!
Where did you get yours from?

Hi Don, This is the only one so far, it cooled down early this year which stalled them out.
Put the rest in the propagator mid October, maybe another month or two of heat will produce a few more.
I'll save you a couple!

FNGLA seed auctions usually has some available. They have an auction every two weeks, register at their site and you'll get notices when they start.

Thanks
Well they say it takes 6 months to a year to germinate, even in the best of climates!
Looks like a deep arctic freeze is coming our way, temps below zero maybe, next week!
Better throw on a extra blanket or two!!!!
