Nannorrhops growth variation

These were all started last winter from RPS seed.

At left are 2 Nannorrhops ritchiana beside 4 Nannorrhops arabica (silver).
Yup, all the same age. :shock:

Acroromia Aculeata and Aiphama what is difference?

Both are referred to as a "Macaw Palm" but is there a difference? or two so similar palms that they share same common name.Just got some seeds and want to have proper information.

Going to try something that I saw on plantcare.com when it comes to seed germination.

Parrot Palm seeds that I got from a Florida palm club. To be fair they were sprouting in the zip lock bag they came in. Will see how they do in these self watering pop bottles and Sphagnum peat moss.

Mexican Fan palm seed did just fine with a self waterer, but I think these things would grow if you threw them on concrete!

US PS tracking numbers don't work in Canada

...bought some hybrid Wodyetia x Veitchia seeds from Seabreeze Nurseries in Florida.
Great service, sent me the US postal service tracking number, told me when they were picking seeds/shipping them.

Took 4 days to get from their location to somewhere else in Florida, and then the envelope dropped off the face of the earth after March 18th.
Because Canada Post doesn't use THAT KIND of a tracking number, even though it's marked International mail.

Stooooopid moronic Canada Post. :cry:

Germination 2013

Howdy! :wink:
Let's start a new season. This time I got:

- A. parryi
- A. utahensis kaibabensis
- E. triglochidiatus v mojavensis
- O. basilaris
- O. erinacea ursina
- O. polyacantha aurea
- O. trichophora
- Y. baccata verspertina
- Yuccas from Tim (Y. filata already germinated, others are not there yet)
- Y. glauca
- Y. glauca baileyi

This time I'm using perlite & vermiculite mix. Seeds are soaked in warm water for 24hrs and placed in a plastic box on a radiator.
I'm not sure about opuntias. I've been told that they might be very difficult to germinate. I wish I knew it before placing order :D Any advice?
