Have never seen that recommendation for palms!
About halfway down the page, under Culture:

http://www.floridata.com/ref/B/brah_arm.cfm

Can you share what's worked for your palms? (and what hasn't?)

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

18-6-12 for the main growing season and 30-10-10 in the early spring. I have used 46-0-0 on some of the ones that have yellowed from nutrients leaching from the soil during cold winter rains.

Cheers, Barrie.

12-4-12 or 8-2-12 are normally used. Palms won't use all that P.

yup, that's what I felt, too.
Just surprised Floridata would make that recommendation.

Apparently other good ones are: 12-2-14, 8-2-10, 13-3-13.
Or 12-4-8 every 2 months plus epsom salts in between months.
And minors/magnesium of course.
