KNNN has inspired me with his Palatka Giant trees in Zone 5 to try the same with a King. I will update this thread as the Summer and Fall turn to Winter & Spring with findings. I plan on using the method used by Steve with a wooden "house" with plexy glass on the top and South side, filled with mulch on the bottom and X-Mas lights inside too.
I planted this in the ground in early Spring and hope it has rooted well. It is currently finishing up it's first flush this year (I usually get 2-3) and it's leafs are stiffing up. So here is the first pic....
Very nice, how many leaves are in that flush?
You get 2-3 flushes a year?
I know...I know...I should get some manure from your GP! 😆

If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
That flush is a "13". Yep, with G-Pa's Dairy Manure, I get flushes in June/July, then in early Sept., then in November on some of them.
thirteen...wow, have never heard of that many.
With all that great manure, it'll grow faster than your kids 😆
Congrats!
