Nice.

Allen

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Very very nice.

Knnn (Steve) has a theory that they put out fronds in uneven numbers.
Yours seems to prove that. I counted nine.
Nice length on fronds.

Steve may be right.
I have three Kings with just starting flushes and on two I counted 7 & 11 (the third is still too little to count them).
My Cardboard I had a three flush, so he might be onto something.

And now I think it is done. The fronds are very strong and plastic like. Just a BEAUTIFUL tree. It is my "Pride -N- Joy" tree.

Hey Wes,
Can you post an updated picture of this guy? And how long are the fronds?

Thanks,
T

I can, but I had to cut the fronds off. I had hoped it would rush a new flush, but it has not as I have had it in the basement, out of sun light. Hopeing that when I put it out in a month or so, it will kick in.
Not sure if Robert told you, but you can not put too much fertalizer on these. I put 2-3 year old cow manure on my cycads once a week and I get NUMBEROUS flushes.

VERY nice. How long are those fronds? I can see we'll have to talk sometime about Cycads...

& about manure...I read about that, but I have to wait until my roots heal...which will be when? Plus, it is in a small pot right now but will be planted in the ground in spring.

I am a bad judge of length, but I would say from tip of the leaf to the caudex was about 2 1/2'. So if your going to do like I do and pot plant, make sure you have room for about a 5' spread to be safe. Don't plan on putting it next to a wall or anything.
ANY TIME, you wan to talk cycads or palms, just PM me. I'll talk for however long you want! I have a passion for them so I can talk all day - night.

2.5" isn't bad at all...I was just hoping it wasn't in the 3-4" range! I might pot plant it but if it can stay here outside, which is what Bob has told me, I might put it in the ground...

I got poked so many times by the tip of the caudex point! It hurts! I'll PM you soon.

Maybe we could even do a trade or the like. (& Sorry for bringing up this 'dead' thread:D )
