Oh how beautiful, Steve!
Huge healthy leaves on sturdy stems...that (and all its neighbors) are super!
Well done!
Barb

Thanks Barb! This was the one that came in the "Bonsai" pot last Spring, really didn't expect it to be doing as well as it is 🙂

Don, Your Sago is definitely making up for lost time! Are you going to overwinter it in ground ?

Thanks
Yes it is staying in the ground, going to cover it up with some straw and plastic.
Ray Sharon has left his in the ground over at the church for at least 5 yrs,and it comes back with a flush every year.

Don, make sure you post your instructions on your winterizing that as I too am trying to do it in the ground.

How big is the one at the Church ? Does it seem to be recovering and growing some each year?

The warm weather has been helping things out, Sagos are starting flush #2 a bit early.

Some new and some old, with reference points...

Palatka Giants from KNNN, also a new Edule leaf.

This is a Tait/Guiz Hybrid but it shows 2 new leafs. These are now starting to put out a new leaf before the old one is even done.

A new flush on a Taitungensis I just noticed this morning.

Edule flush progression. I LOVE new Edule leaf colors.

SLOOOOOOOW leaf, but I have a feeling after it is done, it will be great!

Just noticed (just got back from a couple days trip) this Wilailik flush is actually THREE leafs!!!

This is a pic of the front of my house with the new flush on the Revoluta at the right side of the pic.

Great pics
Don't know if it was any of you,but on other forum.I seen a guy using would pallets or skids as we call them here, built a small green house over his plants, and covered them with plastic,I know a lot of grocery stores have them out back, and probably will give them away,if you ask.
Thats about a cheap a route as you can go,especially if you have a lot of plants to cover.

Well what I have right now is a big sheet of clear hard plexy glass which I am going to have a buddy make a box out of with wood on 4 sides and the plexy on the other two. Then mulch heavily and throw some X-Mas lights on the bottom too. Put the Plexy side facing South and hope for the best. It will still be light enough that if it is a nice day like we had a bunch of last December & January, I can lift the box off.
However, I do have 2 Sabal Minors and a Hystrix planted in the ground. I have MANY MANY pallets at my work and I think I will use them on those.

$$$$Plexiglass, glad you have it already, cost a fortune to but the stuff anymore.
I also have a couple 55 gallon plastic drums,I think I will cut in half and remove the bottoms out and cover with clear plastic and rope around it to hold the plastic on.

Don, spectacular flush on that sago...they're so beautiful when their fronds are held up like that!
How many fronds were in the flush (too many for me to count from pic).

Wes, nice growth, nicely done.

Man oh man, you folks are on your second flush and I'm celebrating my first 😕
