That Spinulosum had a 5-6' spread when I dug it forom the seed colony. I was impressed with the amount of trunk. I hope they are all that way. Bob
I live on 12 acres in Central Florida about half way between Tampa and Walt Disney World.I have seed colonies of over 60 varieties of cycads. I have over one half acre of variegated cycads and I make many hybrids as well.
Bob, are you saying I should not let this plant get full sun all day? Just about 30% of the day?
If you want nice looking leaves.....when the leaves are emerging....a 66% shade/34% sun is perfect. My statement was meaning not more than 30% sun and certainly not full sun (or you will have some very yellow ugly leaves). My Spinulosum never see "full sun" and I have about 2,000 total with most of them planted under a huge canopy of oak trees.(see Spinulosum forrest by clicking on May 2008 at this link: http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff145/chumleyrobert/

Thanks Bob. You need to save your images at a better resolution. Try 700 pix width.
You're not kidding Todd. I'll get better next time. Bob
