Cool 8) How hardy are they ❓

Seems a zone 8B at 24.8F would be the min.
These usually form a subterranean caudex, So with a dry bed during the winter months maybe a little lower.

Zone 8B sounds about right to me.Mine only produces one frond a year and although I have left it out overwinter under a canopy tree I usually bring it indoors to a cool wash-house in autumn.

Same plant 12/06,
Put out 4 fronds this season, Seems to grow at a nice steady rate during warm weather, Hopefully will start picking up some size next Summer 8)

If it is rated at zone 8b then I should give it a try. I would have to put it in well draining soil, maybe even pebbles with a bit of soil and cover it from the rain in the winter.
Where did you get the seed?

These came from Ortanique, They have a good supplier but are currently out of stock. Hopefully will have some more in a month or two.

Did run across a discussion of someone trying these in the same general area you are in?

Also, these do seem to germinate fairly easily with bottom heat, I've been using Mr. Broome's method with pretty good results.
