I cut all the leaves off my Dioon Spinulosum to get a fresh set of leaves for the spring. It is starting to flush now.

Do you think that cutting the old flush helped in forcing that new flush? I have heard that some think it does and from what I have seen, it helps a LOT.

Hey Steve. I put it in last fall. The leaves were fine, I just wanted to new flushes so cut them all off. There are two large heads & 5 pups. 4 of the seven are now flushing.

Looks like it has rooted in nicely, and will look great as it leafs out 8)

I still have yet to get one of these, if you know a good source, send me a PM.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, let me put it to you like this...
I got one Spinulosum from a Nursery in Wichita two years ago that has never flushed.
I got two Spinulosum from Robert Chumley two years ago that both have flushed 3 times each.
I would give Chumley a call buddy.

Wes,
Thanks for the referral, on the one you have that hasn't flushed, have you re-potted it and checked the roots?

Steve

No I have not repotted. I was going to as it sets pretty low in the pot so I can use the same pot, just add some soil.
But it is REALLY healthy and REALLY green and full so I didn't want to mess with it. If it doesn't flush this year, I will repot it thou.
