Do you see the yardstick?

Almost a 3' span on the leaves.

The shorter one below(different variety)may be as wide.

Nice Jim

Do those 4 oclocks self seed there? I had them pop up for years before I re did my garden beds. A lady down the street has them pop up all the time.

What are the 2 other trees on the blvd?

Thanks Jesse

I planted a few areas of 4 o'clocks 4 or 5 years ago...
they spread more every year..

I just noticed the Thai Giant is starting a new leaf,it was out a half inch at 8am,
already a half a foot is poking out 5 hrs later. 🙂

not sure the proper name for those with the yard stick across them..anyways do you think they would be hardy here in 6B with a plastic cover but no heat?

Pachypodium Lamerei(taller one)
P.Geayi(smaller)

There are 2 other that are similar -
P.Fiherense.
P.Mikea

on the other side.

They do not like below 50F but can survive light frosts, sometimes losing the growth point.

Nice! Good idea for yardstick 😆 I have one T. takil in pot from 'Europalms' seed which looks like your T. takil. I don't have success with seeds from Alexander.

All my Takil seeds in bags were dying,so I put them in the ground last spring.

Had a few come up last year and maybe 7-8 more this year...in the ground.

Very cool, I wonder if that is a good cold hardy sign. 😀

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

come up in the spring/following year...wonder if Latisectus & Martianus would be as hardy..........

Don't know? Maybe she went to another forum, a cheap one that smells of robusta and coconuts. 😆
