I guess thats not JR. I know that some really excellent palms and yuccas are now at Rice road greenhouses. Worth checking out in fonthill.

I think I'll head that way next Saturday... It's too bad the RR is closed on Sunday! Another nearby nursery (Fonthill) that has some cool stuff, not palms, is nettlecreek. They have a lot of hard to find stuff for pretty cheap! Oh, and their Magnolia ashei is the best the region (IMO).

I'm going this Sunday to St. Catharines. Is any place where I can buy a Washingtonia? I killed both of mine this winter :-(.

Rice road is as close to heaven as a palm nut can get in southern Ontario. They have sables, washies, windmills, many yuccas, European fan palms, Tasmanian tree ferns, bamboo, foxtails, coconut palms, sagos, Christmas palms and many more.

I knew it was closed, but I gave it a try: closed. Such a nice weather there and such a difference compared with Toronto (or Markham). They had some very tall palms outside, I'll post a picture later. It's 400 km two way, but I'll make time one of these days during the week.

Ya, they are closed sundays, I almost made that mistake. Anyways, Rice Road has everything, most other places have queens and less hardy palms but this is the only place I have found true hardies. I would love a 10 foot but I dont have a grand to spend on a palm, however, would be worth it. They do ship, just so you know, call and ask to speak to JR.
