I've a few out of this batch showing these colorations. some in shade and some in full sun.
I would like to think it might be showing some variegation? but more than likely maybe a deficiency or latent cold damage?
Any thoughts?

I've got no suggestions.
I hope that it is a permanent variegation.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps
I'm hoping too! This one is sending a new spear up, it will be interesting to see how the next leaf turns out

Highly unlikely (I'd bet impossible) that you'll develop a variegated Livistona saribus. If you do, collectors will make you a very rich man.
Here's a pic of one of mine in a gallon pot. Often neglected and it surprizes me to have survived to this point. Very sharp spines on the petioles are evident at this stage.
Cheers, Barrie.
Barrie, These do seem like tough palms. Damp and cold during the Winter never seemed to bother them. I agree with you that whatever this is will probably grow out , although, if it might help, I’ll keep my fingers crossed 🙂
