From the 4th to the 10th of Jan/2015
was a nice warm stretch...the lows...
3,0,-5,-9,-13F,-2,0....it hit -13 again
the next week but it all started in November
with 10 days below freezing in a row,I have
never seen it that cold for that long in November. All the leaves on all the Sabal were toasted.
😡 I figured, my needle palms leaves were mostly green. I mulched around the trunk so that might have been what saved the spear. Getting mulch out of the trunk isn't a very fun job though.
Jeff
I had a 15 gallon Brazoria survive from Steve last winter so this year I have planted a 15 gallon Cape Hatteras and a 2 gallon Warren County miner I purchased from him. Just planted a Brazoria I picked up from Tony a PDN. Went out on a limb an purchased some sabal lou's from an eBay seller, hope they real. We will find out in a few decades.
Just checked there site seems there sold out of everything, will try to remind myself to check back in the spring
