Little update on the Washy-the spear in the first pic opened in under a week
and the one behind it is half open....about 8 days between the 2 pics!
So this palm is putting out about 1 & 1/4 leaves per week and
embarrassing some of the Banana plants!
About 8 days separate the 2 pics...

Love this tree-the trunk already has that gorgeous reddish orange coloration they are famous for...
and it's getting fat!

This Ensete Glaucum was a one inch stump all winter-I don't know how it made to spring
but it has grown into a beauty...outside the gorgeous color of E.Maurelii,I think Glaucum is the most beautiful.
The trunk is thick at the base but quickly thins as you go up creating a beautifully shaped plant.

Rajapuri is a beast,the trunk is the size of a Nerf football.

Garden is never as colorful with out the ruby of Siam....

Would be leaf #6 for the Princeps if it wouldn't have spear-pulled,nice recovery though-

Holy toodles, Jim, that Washy's so spectacular.
Maybe it's taking all the fert from the other one 😉
You'll soon need to wear safety glasses to walk down those stairs.
Yup the Sequoia is sure fat and VERY healthy dark green 😀
Good sign when evergreens get that dense at the top.
Love that reddish orange trunk, similar to what Ponderosa Pines get.

Really happy with the Sequoia 😉 ,even with the repeated high temps over 100F,it does look great.

Being so close to the ground it has come close to burning up.
You can see how dull the leaves are but it's growing and it looks
like the 100F temps are gone-but I thought that yesterday.....
Unreal numbers....yesterday Temp 100F dewpoint 43F humidity 15%

My Washy is pushing out a new leaf every day! 😉 Just kidding.......I think mine as 2 new and is pushing up #3 this season.

The spruce tree is a weed I never killed. My youngest daughter wants to keep it for a xmas tree so it will be around for 3 or 4 more years!

The Yuccas on the left are a plot of 9 seed grown Y constricta x filamentosas. Nice eye, I bet most gardeners would think they are filamentosa but the leaves are generally more rigid, they have a different looking filament and the leaves slightly shorter and narrower.

Your funny Tim,I bet when it comes time to cut it,she wants it decorated where it is and you don't get rid of it so quick!-LOL
One thing about Washys(esp here...)if the roots freeze out with ground moisture present they are almost for sure goners....
Use lots of high quality mulch around them.

Tim- I asked because they looked somewhat like an Agave, at least from the angle the shot was taken. Nice looking plants for sure.
