Here are some pics from today's plantings along with some other pictures of my tropical plants.
European fan palm and canna
One of the Trachys I planted last year
One of the Pindos I planted last year. Also in the picture a Canna “Tropicana”.
Needle palm I planted this year
One of the three queen palms I planted this year. Not sure what I’ll do this winter with these.
Red banana tree beside a gorgeous Bizzy.
Another of my banana trees
Another Pindo and a Tropicana canna
Tropicana “Gold” and a row of dwarf pick verigated cannas
“Fireworks” fiesta grass
Foxtail palm I bought this spring. Another that I don’t have a clue what I’ll do with this winter.
One of the many hibiscus I have
Pink dwarf canna
Forgot what this plant is called.
Two small Washys I got for 16 each
Pigmy Date palm I bought at home depot on clearance for 20. I will bring it inside this winter.
nice work, looks like you have some nice sized plants to care for. BTW - nice tractor, makes diggin' holes for big wahy's much easier. Those washy's are of good size. will you need to protect those in your zone? or just let them go and see what survives.
Kent in Kansas
where it's cold in winter (always)
and hot in summer (usually)

I'll protect them. I've never seen a Washingtonia anywhere in Western North Carolina. I'm going to take every precaution to make sure they make it through the winter here.
Nice pics! In case you did'nt know first banana tree is Siam Ruby, second is,Rowe Red.

Thanks. I didn't know the names of either of them. They have to be brought in for the winter right?
