Everything is in. Waiting for warmer temperatures and growth. Been below normal the last month. Actually had a low of 35 this morning. So close to frost, but didn't get any. Can't wait for summer pictures of this year's display.

Thai black banana is a little sunburned. They must shade grow all bananas at nurseries because everyone I get burns up. LOL.

Yeah, April has been ridiculous.

What will May bring?

10(F) warmer than April ,20-30(F)warmer if you are on the south
side of the stationary front that has been plaguing most of the country!

Hey Jim -

Looks like the pattern is changing. You follow weather at all? The model ensembles are starting to pump that warmth north next week.

Even though our bananas have been dormant the last month, you think they're growing roots?

They have to be,mine have put out to much growth not to be rooting.

The Abyssinian has grown like a foot, also a couple now
have put out a partial leaf and have their rollers exposed.

They should grow 10x at least in the next week what they did in April.

I do follow the weather very closely.

I hope some of the forecasts verify and the warmth makes it up here,
there are a lot of 80s in the forecast and if we get enough of them the Bananas
will bust out big time and they will keep growing even on the cool days in the 60s.

I am setting up the Castor bean beds today.....if you think Bananas grow fast
in warm temps(they do 😀 )the Castor beans are even faster early in the year.

Can't wait to get them in, have the giant leaved ones and the purple this year.

Hope the warm air makes it up there!
