These princeps are grown from the seeds collected in the stone gate.
People used to belive blindly the they were green, but our results and some other growers show they are even more promising than people thought. T.princeps-stone gate are the only officaly recognized T.princeps and now seem to be also the most buish trachycaprus with white powder even on top as opposed to the general green style merely with white undersides.

Erik- I've heard reports that they are similar if just slightly less hardy than 'normal' T. fortunei... In the -15C range. Jim would probably have a better idea since he has a few planted out (I think, correct me if I am wrong).

Just the one-

that sounds pretty accurate.

Barb,I hope yours could be just as beautiful as mince in 1-2 years , blue silver even on top other than to the undersides of leaves.
Jim got few of his princeps germinated 2 years after staying in the ground and going through -5F, Gee, is that true? How cold would that be? 😆
Paul, how is your princeps going I shared with you before?

Garry- I'm embarrassed to say that I had a breakout of damping off and lost all but one seedling from the entire tray! It was really unfortunate that such lovely seedlings were victimized by my own slowness to react. I had excellent germination results. I also lost a ton of bamboo seedlings and some bananas too (all of which were germinating at the same time).

How did the sabal seeds I sent your way make out?

Those sabals are germinating like weeds. Thank you very much.
Are they also bluish on the top of leaves? I am an earnest fan of blue palms growing butia capitata and bismarkia, etc.

Gary- The Sabal seedlings that I have all have a blueish tint to them (they are S. minor 'McCurtain' strain). They seem to hold the blueish colour even in full sun!
