Just purchased a very healthy T. fortunel in a five gallon container. Planted it in the southern exposure, farely close to the house. I live in Spokane, WA., the past few years, winters have been a bit milder and below average. What extra precautions & care should I take for the winter coming up. I heard that the first two years TLC should be considered to get them through the cold winters of zone 5. Any information or your input would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
Welcome to the forum Flamingo. 😀
I would try to wrap the trachy up with burlap or something before you have a cold snap. Also a plastic enclosure would ensure some good protection for the first couple of winters until it the palm becomes more established. Hope this helps. 😀

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
