I just palnted it last August,wasn't sure it would make it over winter,getting it into the ground so Late![/img]

Tropicman is that all the protection it recieved all winter? What is your lowest temp? How many days below freezing?Looks great.

Well first of all,it came from Monrovia,in Californy,what I was told,from the nursery lady.
And just a plastic cover that came over my new lazyboy recliner,fit right over the wire screen,had several days below freezing in a row,lowest temp,was zero,and temps were in the teens a few days in a row for the high.
One time it was covered completely by snow for a few days in a row as well.
I'm assuming the 2 bale high wall of straw completely surrounding the trunk,played an important rule in the way it looks today.
I have 2 waggies,Butia,Cham.humillius and a cidp,I'm thinking about planting in the ground.and trying this again and
overwintering them outside.

Hey tropicman - if the wife kicks you out that looks like a pretty nice place to stay. You'll need to wire in some electricity and you've got it made.

Thanks guys for the kind words!
Oppalm,electricity is already there,and so is the natural gas,but the wife is very understanding when It comes to me and my plants,of coarse what she doesn't know won't hurt!!!
