Our yellow lab thought the Butia shelter was a new dog house. He slept in there every night until it got cold enough to let him sleep inside. 🙄

Spear pull can and often does happen soon after cold a lot of times when it happens later it can be to much moisture before plants have turned the corner out of winter.
Last spring my Washys made it through winter (barely) but the spear didn't pull until late May.This was because of a wet spring.
My Trachys pulled within 2 weeks of cold weather.Not sure if it was below(mostly)freezing temps for 3-4 days or 12(F) absolute low.
My guess would be the former,that's what you get for treating your first years like your more established palms 🙄

If that is a current pic of your Naini Tal I'm sure it's fine(Rostrata too)and I would guess they have not seen temps that cold in their enclosures,your potection is so close to the ground
and so well insulated,I doubt they have seen cold like there was outside.
You Naini Tal would look all shriveled up if it had seen -5(F) and the leaves would be closed up

Both pictures were taken today, both plants never had any heat this winter. I tried Xmas lites last year, gave up in October worrying how to regulate temps, dug up both plants, and replanted them this spring.

They're both bone-dry in their plastic enclosures.

Looks like another bout of real cold begins after Christmas, so I'll get more Freeze-Pruf on a few days before it hits.

I'm encouraged that the waterproof protection seemed to work so far.
Plastic doesn't do much to stop cold though.

nainital loos fine, as does the fortunei. The rostrata is probably still fine too... In my limited experience, Yucca are far more interested in having access to light than they are to staying warm...

good luck Barb. My guess is that you will have to wait until springtime to assess the damage, if any. Don't go around tugging on spears just yet. This is my third winter with stuff planted outside and I am feeling much better having been through two winters wondering how everything is doing (fortuneis, sabal minors, sabal louisianas, elephant ears etc).

I think you'll be surprised and your efforts will be rewarded.

Should I reapply Freeze-Pruf, say, at one week intervals while it's mild? versus the recommended "every four to six weeks" application?
I'm thinking of the old adage "if a little bit is good, a lot is better." 😉

Absolutely not!
Only apply it once as instructions say.Every six weeks.
I have been following the Freeze=pruf trials on several different forums and one of the things he mentioned is NOT to over apply.
