I accidently deleted all my photos after coming out of the Climatron(dome with all the plants)so I went back and snapped them all off again )-;

Looks like a great vacation.
My wife was in St. Louis last week (on our anniversary, actually) but I couldn't go. We have a date to go back in late September and we'll visit their famous botanical garden. Your photos made me all the more eager for the trip. --Erik

Hey Jim thanks for posting those.
Bet you drooled over that tree fern.
Always amazed at how skinny a Trachy trunk is near the base...no wonder they hate windy sites.
They'll have to add a glass cupola to make room for that palm soon.
Cool basilica and stadium pics.
Glad you had a good vacation.
Who looked after your plants while you were gone????

You guys must have had a awesome time!!! Looks like you sure covered the bases while you where there. What a nice looking botanical garden, I don't know where to start with the comments there was so many great shots. You must have wanted to dig up those tree ferns and bring them home with you 😉
That caster bean tree must was really cool, is that how big yours is now 😆

Thanks guys/gals,the St.Louis zoo and B-gardens are some of the best in the world.
You could spend a whole day at either and not see everything.
The Basilica is not to be missed,it will blow you away when you see the size of this place and how much
time was spent placing every 1/2" tile,the place is huge and has one of the biggest unsupported domes anywhere.
The Florida royal palm in the Climatron has it's spear touching the top of the structure.
I believe the truncked Yuccas at the zoo are a green form of Gloriosa,these grow outside unprotected,
I would love to get one to try here.
Pretty exhausting trip.
I posted those Oleander pics for you Bill,thought you might enjoy,pretty cool they were
(I believe)growing unprotected in St.Louis,they also had huge bamboo and giant reed grass 30' and 20'
tall respectively.

the Fortunei was one palm that had plenty of room to grow taller 😀

I didnt know st louis had that kind of climate to grow oliander, let alone yucca gloriosa :O

It is possible the Oleander are in large pots that are sunk in the ground.
The Yuccas were quite a surprise!
They look like you garden variety Yucca that grow all over the country and are hardy
to at least -30f,these had trunks though!
