Got a flyer in the mail today. For my $15 membership fee, among other things, I get free...
2 White Dogwood trees
2 American Redbuds
2 Flowering Crab apple trees (I already have 3 in my backyard)
2 Washington Hawthorn
2 Golden Raintree
Is anybody else a member?

Yes I am off and on 🙂 They are an ok group. They do a lot with tree ordinances in cities, wich I am not a big fan of, but they do a lot of other good things. For a $15 membership fee they will give you 10 nice small trees 🙂 I have many of their trees around my place. Not bad for $15 bucks 😀

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I commend the Arbor Day Foundation for their efforts to assist and improve urban forestry and wildlife habitat. That said, I have less than glowing feelings about them as a nurseryman, esp. when it comes to their 10 free trees deal. Maybe others have had better luck than me, but both times I bought a membership and got trees for it, they came in early December. Yes Boise is zone 7 but a zone 7 is not necessarily a zone 7. Here it is usu. too cold and wet to plant anything in December. I have not bought any other nursery stock other than the 10 free trees deals from them though, probably due to the frustration with receiving my 10 free trees in the dead of winter...

Who wouldn't want free pie and chips?
