Start off with some Pachy's

I knew if I repotted the Madagascar palm it would grow more this year....

check out the leaves-

3' crown of leaves

can't wait to see it next year...I think I'll put it in a bigger pot!

Pachypodium Fiherense

Pachypodium Geayi -in front of the Cereus-which(BTW)has grown out the whole branch on the left,the one in the center and the blue part of the one on the right-and I was wondering why the top didn't grow!

Sequoia is 7' 1"

This Fiddle leaf fig has grown out everything above the yardstick in 6 weeks or so?

Philodendron (Hope) or is it Hype?
Whatever you call it-sure has grown a lot!

I still think that Philodendron is a Selloum.

I may throw my Pachypodium lamerei in the compost after I've seen yours.

Remember when that Sequoia was a foot tall?
Incredible at 7 feet 😀
The township will start charging you boulevard rent.

My princeps seedlings from Garry--while smaller than yours--are nice too.
Great seed source!

So, are you convinced princeps, tesan, takil(?) 😆 should be planted in the ground as youngsters?

The ice plant around the base of the Butia(??) palm looks fabulous!!!!

So..all that are in the ground get over wintered? (Fiddle leaf fig etc)?

Cor blimey Jim... don't you ever have overcast days 8) Your Ricinus Zanzibarinensis look amazing.. what 12-15ft high? Agaves, Palms all look a picture of good health. Its amazing what you can grow in your sub tropical climate 😆 yeah I wish. Those lovely blue princeps are outside your protective zone? Thanks for the photo's 😀

These is Ice plant there Barb but not around the Butia.....

shows what a lot of heat/early start and lots of watering can do 😀

It has been insanely sunny this year,we had our first cloudy day in
like 2 months last week or so.

The Castor beans are over 13' right now.

Only the Cactus and palms stay in the ground 😉

Lots of watering?
I thought they were supposed to be dry-ish...all that water storage area in their thick trunks?

Yea Barb,they are one of those opportunistic plants though..... that take advantage of the wet season.

When I stop watering in the winter it drops all it's leaves,then it goes in the corner 😀

Really nice garden, i like the desert garden. But here i can only have 2 species of opuntia that can stay on the ground a year round without protection.

Wow Jim I love your garden as always, its starting to look like your garden is in California, instead of Iowa. I love those big agaves and palms, your garden is really exotic looking.
