Two years ago I hunted rattlesnake in Waurika Oklahoma. Waurika is located in Jefferson County which is the North side of the "Red River".
When we first got to the bridge that devides Oklahoma from Texas, we went along the South side of the river which is actually Clay County in Texas.
Since I had not been into palms at the time, I really didn't pay much attention, but I remember about a hundred clumping trees that when I think about it, seem an awful a lot like Sabla Minor. And the fact that they were along the side of the river where you would usually find them in a woody area, make me think thats what they were.
Does anybody know of the area I am talking about where you take "70" out of Waurika, Oklahoma going west, to "79 South", then go about 2 miles to the "Red River" bridge that is the border of OK & Tex.
THe Oklahoma side has steep rocky cliffs, the Texas side has sand bars and POSSIBLY SABAL MINORS????? The habitat is PERFECT Sabal territory but don't know if they really are that far north. I know there have been folks down there that claim even alligator live there so it IS kinda warm.
