I noticed today while doing some trimming on a couple of my Trachy`s that one of them had perfectly round fronds. A few fronds overlapping more than 360 deg. http://www.flickr.com/photos/67364497@N07/6991112589/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/67364497@N07/6991197269/. None of my other Trachy`s have this trait. Anybody else have a Trachy with the same 360 deg. fronds?

Spectacular, John.
Maybe it's crossed with a T.latisectus.

Definitely more round than mine:

Adam I`m sure that this palm is different than a regular Trachy. Barb I bought this palm along with 20 others a few years ago. They looked all the same, or so I thought? It will be interesting to see if it flowers this year. Hope it`s a female. I would like to get seeds from it.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Nice pics, John! I do know of a few people in Georgia who are growing "360 degree" T. fortunei.

Thanks Aaron. Cameron I thought there were other T. fortunei out there with the same frond trait. Confirmed.

Yes,I have about 8 seedlings right now that should produce divided leaves this year.

Not sure how many will produce 360* leaf pattern.......................
Fortunei is growing nearby the population of Winsan that Garry harvested....I think 😕

I believe that Nigel(from EPS) thinks these are different from Fortunei and if I remember correctly
the seedlings can have 3,4,5,6 ridges on the first seedling leaf-I believe the flower spathes are different than Fortunei as well.

cool 360 leaf. I went to Bill's place again over the weekend and he also had a Trachy with 360 leaves.
