Don't know if you've seen this, but there's still no answer on this ID at the UBC Botanical Gardens Forum, Plant Identification, about the 3rd or 4th posting down.

It's some kind of bottle palm, but which? Stunning, eh?

I have no hope of getting one of these, as indicated in another post, all the plants these days seem to be labelled "tropical foliage". 🙁
Would never know what it was going to grow into (if it was a little one).
