Some new photos of the parent palms of xbutyagrus. Butia capitata, and syagrus. Sorry for the watermark could not get my image converter to work.

Eric thanks for posting those pics. How did the Xbutiagrus planted on your island do unprotected. This winter would have been a real test for them?

The ones we put out are not doing well. They got hit really bad with the wind and the snow I do not think they will make it.

However we did plant them in october with the roots cut on it. It did not have a chance. The other one was just a seedling.

Eric let`s hope global cooling doesn`t bring many more of these nasty winters. They probably would have done well in any normal winter on the gulf islands.
